Best women's boutiques in Denver. Stop in to Lady Jones

May 06, 2024

Editor’s note: This is part of The Know’s series, Staff Favorites. Each week, we offer our opinions on the best that Colorado has to offer for dining, shopping, entertainment, outdoor activities and more. (We’ll also let you in on some hidden gems).

One of my favorite necklaces has a paperclip gold chain with a pendant that looks like a raw, misshapen pearl.

I frequently get compliments on the jewelry, and some assume it’s a family heirloom. But I actually found it at my favorite boutique in Denver, Lady Jones.

The shop opened on Tennyson Street in 2016, and has had a second location in Vail since 2021.

I live in the area, so when Lady Jones’ everchanging – but always enticing – window display stopped me dead in my tracks for the first time, I knew right away that I would become a regular. (Luckily, it has a rewards program.) Its collection of Denver-based designers and sustainable brands is modern and contemporary, but also timeless. Owner Nicole Schnitzlein has curated her small shops specifically for Colorado women. It’s not so trendy or so expensive that you get turned off by the first flip of a price tag.

There are chic, wide-brim hats, fit for a weekend trip to the mountains or a Red Rocks concert; everyday earrings, including the many pairs of hoops I own; jeans worth investing in, including brands like Agolde and Citizens of Humanity; and staple basics that you can dress up for the night or throw a blazer on top of for work.

Forget about online shopping: Lady Jones’ collection is full of brands and designers I never would have thought to look up. And the stock is updated frequently, so it’s always worth popping in and trying on. And we’re not talking about the same Zara or Amazon top everyone is already wearing. The unique items at this local boutique give you the opportunity to find your own personal sense of style again.

Come to think of it, you could spend a whole day on Tennyson (and I usually do). Start with Bakery Four for breakfast, shop, then have some Post Oak BBQ for lunch, and maybe a French silk pie shake from Legacy Pie Co. And wear that new necklace or top from Lady Jones home.
